As part of our NZ Data & Analytics team, you'll provide high‑quality, customer‑focused support across data platforms and reporting solutions. Acting as the front door for Data & Analytics support, you'll own requests end‑to‑end, keep customers informed, and help lift support maturity through strong documentation and effective handovers, building trust and confidence in their analytics environments.
You'll work across a diverse customer technology landscape. While the role is primarily Microsoft‑focused (Azure, Fabric, Power BI), you'll also have exposure to platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks, along with tools like WhereScape and Informatica. We're looking for someone curious, highly trainable, and able to ramp up quickly, supported by our wider data and integration team and clear escalation pathways.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary entry point for Data & Analytics support, owning requests end‑to‑end from triage through to resolution and customer communication.
- Provide support across data and analytics platforms, with a strong focus on Microsoft technologies (Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL, and related Azure services).
- Diagnose and resolve issues including data refresh failures, data quality problems, modelling issues, pipeline failures, access/security queries, and performance degradation.
- Support data engineering components by interpreting logs, troubleshooting orchestration and deployment issues, and assisting with Python‑related errors.
- Manage cases via an ITSM/ticketing tool, maintaining clear documentation, updates, and quality closure.
- Collaborate with engineers and specialists on escalations, providing clear context and handover notes.
- Create and maintain runbooks, knowledge base content, and improve project‑to‑support handovers to reduce repeat incidents.
- Contribute to continuous improvement through root‑cause analysis and preventative recommendations.
- Participate in occasional after‑hours support as part of a shared team roster.
What You'll Bring
- Experience in a support, service desk, or technical analyst role supporting data, analytics, or BI environments.
- Strong SQL and data troubleshooting skills, with hands‑on experience in Power BI and familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and Azure data services.
- Working knowledge of data engineering concepts (pipelines, transformations, orchestration) and basic Python literacy.
- Strong communication, documentation, and customer‑focused problem‑solving skills.
- Proven ability to learn new tools quickly and manage prioritised support queues using ITSM tools.
Bonus Skills
- Experience supporting Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory/Synapse, or cloud data platform monitoring.
- Exposure to Snowflake, Databricks, WhereScape, or Informatica.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, version control, and ITIL‑aligned incident and problem management practices.
