We're looking for a Business Development Manager who brings the same mindset to every deal: relentless in pursuit of the outcome, genuinely curious about the customer's business, and quick to earn trust at every level of an organisation.
What you will be doing
You'll build and convert a pipeline of new-logo opportunities across the mid-market, coming from both existing Fusion5 accounts and new prospects. You will own the full sales lifecycle from prospecting through to contract close, while partnering with our pre-sales team and Account Managers to shape solutions and grow our existing customer base.
- 5+ years selling managed services, cloud or IT operations contracts in the ANZ mid-market, with new-logo wins you sourced yourself and can walk through end to end
- Experience running multi-year sales cycles for recurring contracts, including commercial structuring, risk conversations and procurement
- A track record of consistently overachieving targets, top percentile of sales achievers
- Working knowledge of M365, Azure and the modern security landscape
- Confidence forming and negotiating relationships directly at executive and C-level
- Strong pipeline and opportunity-management discipline across a 90-day-plus cycle
- Comfort using AI tools to sharpen your proposals, presentations and day-to-day productivity, we expect you to go beyond the manual way of doing things too
- Strong interpersonal skills and high EQ, outstanding at building trust and relationships quickly both internally and with projects.

Plenty of people can run a sales process. Fewer can do these three things well:
- Displacement wins, you've unseated incumbent MSPs or convinced organisations to move beyond internal-only IT, and you can tell us exactly how you did it
- Structured sales methodology, you're trained in a recognised qualification and buyer-psychology framework, and disciplined enough to actually apply it deal after deal, not just when it's convenient
- NZ mid-market network, you already have relationships with IT and finance leaders, advisors or Microsoft field sellers in New Zealand that you can put to work from day one
Beyond that, this role rewards a particular kind of operator: someone who owns their number, adapts fast when a deal stalls, and listens more than they pitch. You build trust quickly, whether it's a CIO weighing risk, a CFO wanting cost predictability, or a delivery lead who needs to know a deal was sold sensibly and you play the long game, treating every relationship as a step toward becoming someone's trusted advisor, not just their vendor of the moment.
