Fusion5 is looking for an up-and-coming Project Manager who's ready to build their career on real data and integration implementations - not just observe them. This isn't a role where you're left to figure things out alone: you'll be working alongside Senior Project Managers and consultants who'll actively mentor you, while you take genuine ownership of scope, time, cost and quality across the projects in front of you.
You'll be coordinating multiple concurrent data and integration workstreams, which means no two weeks look the same. Timelines shift, priorities compete, and the plan on Monday isn't always the plan by Friday so the person who thrives here is someone who can spot a scheduling problem or a risk before it becomes a crisis, and act on it rather than wait to be told.
What you'll be doing:
This role sits right at the intersection of structure and adaptability - you'll need a solid process to fall back on, and the judgement to know when the situation calls for something different.
- Establishing baseline project scope through proper definition documentation, and managing any variations through the right change process
- Developing and maintaining project timelines, communication plans and financial plans, tracking milestones and taking corrective action when things drift
- Preparing and monitoring project budgets, tracking actuals against plan and flagging variances before they become a problem
- Identifying and managing risks, issues and dependencies, with mitigation strategies that are actually workable, not just documented
- Coordinating resources and assigning individual responsibility in collaboration with the Resource Manager
- Building and maintaining the client relationships that keep a project - and future business - on solid ground
- Contributing to pre-sales consultancy, ballpark estimates and RFP input as opportunities come up
- Ensuring project documentation is accurate and genuinely useful, not just filed away
- Conducting post-project reviews that feed real insight back into how we deliver, not just a box-ticking exercise
What you bring:
You're someone who leans into a fast-paced environment rather than waiting for it to slow down. You can decide and act without having the full picture, and you're not thrown when things are incomplete or a critical detail is still unknown - you keep moving and adjust as more becomes clear. You take feedback and mentoring as a genuine opportunity to get better, and you're honest even when the truth isn't the easy answer.
- 1-3 years' experience coordinating or implementing projects
- A strong finance background is advantageous, along with the financial literacy to forecast and manage project budgets
- Experience with Microsoft Project is desired
- Exposure to the full lifecycle of implementation and upgrade projects, across multiple engagements
- Exposure to, or willingness to learn, Azure DevOps and/or Jira
- Understanding of different project methodologies and how to apply the right one for the job
- Strong stakeholder and vendor relationship skills, with the confidence to negotiate and hold your ground when it matters
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage client expectations under pressure
- Solution-oriented with strong attention to detail you don't stop digging at the first answer
- Prince2 certified, or keen to work towards it
