# Senior AI Engineer - Applied Intelligence

- **Build production AI solutions**, not just prototypes and experiments.
- **Work hands-on with LLM agents, integrations, retrieval and orchestration.**
- **Lead technical delivery** while helping shape reusable AI engineering patterns and standards at Fusion5.

**Ready to build AI agents that actually make it into production?**

Fusion5 is looking for an experienced **Senior AI Engineer** to join our Applied Intelligence team. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves solving complex problems, writing production-quality code and taking enterprise AI solutions from discovery right through to deployment and operational handover.

**About you**

You'll be customer-focused, adaptable and solutions-driven, with strong communication skills and the confidence to explain complex technical concepts clearly. You'll thrive in a collaborative environment, take ownership, make sound decisions when things are ambiguous, and enjoy solving challenging problems. You'll bring a growth mindset, welcome feedback, and be comfortable mentoring others while working closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

**About the role**

Working directly with customer teams, you'll validate real business use cases, lead technical discovery and build reliable enterprise AI solutions.

You'll select the right platforms, models and frameworks, integrate agents with enterprise systems and data, and write and review production code. You'll work across the full delivery lifecycle, from discovery and experimentation through testing, production deployment, hypercare and handover.

You'll also play an important technical leadership role, reviewing solution designs and code, mentoring engineers and contributing reusable patterns, templates and accelerators to Fusion5's Agent Factory.

**Skills & experience we're looking for**

- Proven experience delivering **production software, data, integration or AI solutions** in consulting or customer-facing environments.
- Hands-on experience **designing, coding and operating an LLM-based agent in production** across Microsoft, Databricks, AWS or other AI-platforms.
- Experience with **tool integration, evaluation, security controls, retrieval and/or orchestration**.
- Strong understanding of **APIs, enterprise integration, cloud security, identity, authorisation, DevOps and CI/CD**.
- Experience evaluating different **agent platforms, frameworks and model providers** against customer requirements
- Strong coding skills in at least one language such as **Python, TypeScript, C# or Java**.
- Experience **leading technical delivery, reviewing production code and mentoring engineers**.
- Familiarity with **Model Context Protocol (MCP)** and agent interoperability approaches such as **A2A** would be valuable.

**About Fusion5**

Our **Applied Intelligence** team helps customers move from AI experiments to agents that do real work in production. We work directly with customer teams to identify valuable use cases, design and build solutions, support them through hypercare and hand them over for ongoing support

**Sound like you?**

If you're an experienced engineer who wants to build **real enterprise AI solutions that make it into production**, we'd love to hear from you.

**Apply now and help us turn AI possibilities into practical business outcomes.**
