# Fusion5 named OpenAI Select Partner as businesses seek greater returns from AI investment

_Fusion5 is now an OpenAI Select Partner, helping ANZ businesses turn AI investment into measurable ROI with AI agents and workflow modernisation. Find out how._

30/10/2026 – Australasian technology transformation partner Fusion5 has been named an OpenAI Select Partner, giving it more direct access to OpenAI's models, security frameworks and technical capabilities to help organisations across Australia and New Zealand turn AI investment into measurable business performance.

The appointment comes as many organisations struggle to convert AI adoption into returns. McKinsey's State of AI in 2026 report found nearly nine in ten respondents say their organisations regularly use AI in at least one business function, yet only 37% report that AI has contributed to earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT).

The research points to a clear differentiator: the willingness to redesign how work gets done. Nearly three-quarters of AI high performers have redesigned workflows as part of their AI adoption, compared with around one-quarter of other organisations.

[Deepak Nangia,](https://www.fusion5.com/au/our-people/deepak-nangia "Deepak Nangia") Group CEO of Fusion5, says the recognition reflects a shift in what businesses need from AI and their technology partners.

The opportunity with AI goes well beyond making existing processes faster. It gives businesses the chance to fundamentally rethink how they operate, how decisions are made, and where their people can create the greatest value. But access to advanced AI doesn't automatically translate into better business performance. That takes a clear understanding of the business, the right technology architecture, and the engineering capability to redesign how businesses operate. Working more directly with OpenAI gives us greater flexibility to engineer sophisticated AI agents and modernise workflows around each customer's needs."

The partnership strengthens Fusion5's Applied Intelligence proposition, which starts with the commercial challenge rather than the technology. Fusion5 identifies [where AI can create value](https://www.fusion5.com/au/artificial-intelligence/resources/agentic-ai-playbook "Agentic AI Playbook"), then engineers AI agents, modernises workflows and operating models, connects AI to enterprise applications and trusted data, and builds in security, governance and human oversight – helping customers achieve faster decision-making, more efficient operations, better customer experiences and greater capacity for innovation.

The organisations that succeed with AI won't necessarily be those adopting the most tools," Nangia says. "They'll be the ones that understand where intelligence can change the economics of their business and have the capability to make that change happen. Our role is to help customers make those decisions with confidence and then deliver on them."

The partnership will support Fusion5's ongoing investment in [agentic engineering and workflow modernisation](https://www.fusion5.com/au/artificial-intelligence/agentic-ai-transformation "Agentic AI transformation"), helping Australian and New Zealand businesses move from AI experimentation to enterprise-wide transformation.

The new partnership combines direct access to frontier model AI capabilities with Fusion5’s business transformation expertise, helping Australian and New Zealand organisations modernise workflows and turn AI investment into measurable commercial outcomes.
